Vans Skateboarding& Z-Boys Shoe Collab
[Short Editorial]
For this project I paired with Luke Darcy, a University of Kansas Industrial Design student to create a promotional booklet that explains the history of Vans, The Zephyr Skate Team, and showcases a shoe that is based off of member, Stacy Peralta.
The shoe Luke designed takes cues from Stacy’s experience with graffiti and his pioneering of grunge culture as a whole.
After watching Dogtown and the Z-boys, the punk rock aesthetic created a natural through line between the graffiti motifs of Luke’s design and the history of Vans, the Zephyr Skate Team, and Stacy.
